About me

Hi, I'm Karl Morcott.

I am a business strategist and AI enthusiast currently based in Chicago.

Before grad school, I spent nearly a decade in consulting helping companies drive organic growth—working across research, design, and go-to-market to launch new products and services.

You can read my LinkedIn or resume for more on that.

These days, I'm focused on how applications of AI can strengthen career resilience across business operations—while protecting those aspects of life that make it most meaningful: connection, creativity, critical thinking, and the freedom to fail.

Long term, I’m eager to explore the verticals forming AI’s backbone: energy, compute, cloud infrastructure, and novel human–computer interaction.

I’m currently a graduate student in Northwestern’s MBAi program—a joint degree from Kellogg and the McCormick School of Engineering that combines business leadership with a deep foundation in artificial intelligence and machine learning.

As part of my journey through this program, I am determined to make sense of the technological shift in front of us. This includes developing a critical understanding of how white-collar professionals like myself can practically and intentionally adapt how they work—and find fulfillment—in an AI-driven world.

As I share my thoughts and learnings, I am always looking for collaborators and constructive critics. If you're interested in collaborating, or find my content interesting, I’d love to connect!
